Anafranil is a tricyclic antidepressant. It affects chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced. The drug is used to treat symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) such as recurrent thoughts or feelings and repetitive actions.

Directions

Take this medication exactly as it was prescribed for you. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose to make sure you get the best results from this medication. Avoid drinking alcohol and and grapefruit juice and eating Grapefruit.

Precautions

Do not use this medication if you are allergic to clomipramine or to similar drugs or if you have recently had a heart attack. Don't drive as this medicines that make you sleepy. It may be harmful to an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. Aged people may be more sensitive to the side effects of the drug.

Possible side effect

The medicine may cause giddiness, sickness, retching and some allergic reaction. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual.
