Thorazine is an anti-psychotic medication in a group of drugs called phenothiazines. It works by changing the actions of chemicals in your brain. The medicine is used to treat psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia or manic-depression, and severe behavioral problems in children. It is also used to treat nausea and vomiting, anxiety before surgery, chronic hiccups, acute intermittent porphyria, and symptoms of tetanus.

Directions

Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Take each dose with or without food to diminish stomach annoyance.

Precautions

Do not use this medication if you are allergic to or if you have recently had a heart attack, liver or kidney illness, Parkinson disease. This medication may be harmful to an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. Avoid drinking alcohol.
